I like to take a few minutes reflecting on the specific needs of each project before deciding how to approach it. Usually, whenever possible, I aim to cover four sequential and iterative phases: 1️⃣ RESEARCH. I review the starting product (if there is one) and gather information about the users (characteristics, needs, desires, motivations, and expectations) and the design solution (industry, goals, priorities, trends…). 2️⃣ DESIGN. I usually iterate from the abstract (mood boards, sketches…) to the refined (wireframes, prototypes…). When I have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), I adjust it according to the needs of stakeholders. 3️⃣ EVALUATION. I conduct tests (with or without users) to validate the usability of the design and identify areas for future updates. 4️⃣ PRESENTATION. After two decades of presenting projects, I’ve learned at least two things: ☝️ Work is of little use if you can’t explain it. ✌️ It’s better to integrate the presentation as an iterative part of the process than to leave everything until the end.
